Personal work

Concept Art
These are some of the drawings I've made during the class.
This was the first thing that was asked of us, 10 drawings of face features, on a A3. Most of them are made by observing real persons, and those are at the same time the most succesful ones like the ear, the 2nd and 3rd lips, the eye and the hand. The other ones are made after photographs, and I cannot say that I'm proud of them. The construction of the first lips I've drew isn't correct, the top lip is to angled and I didn't shade it right.
Before I start commenting on my drawings, I want to point out that I've actually studied drawing in my country, and after finishing them, I've stopped drawing for a while, forgetting some of the basics and I need to work on my lines and shading again, and to remember some of the techniques.
The first 3 drawings are 5 minute studies of our teacher standing in different positions. In some of them I got the proportions wrong while in others, I didn't drew anatomically correct, but I still feel like it's a great study, and a good way of practicing line.
We've tried different things, things like drawing eachother, drawing geometrical objects that were given to us to observe, and a good study where we had to draw our hand but in a more geometrical manner.
The 2 drawings that I feel like they actually turned out fine are the one made in coal, our teacher leaning his head on his arm, and the female holding her leg.

As part of my research, I've researched the work of Tim Von Rueden. He started with a stick figurine outlining, to give the character the right proportion and to help him position the character in more natural stances. Then he did the anatomy sketch, outline, to determine her body-build and it helps him to draw the complete outline on top of it. In the last picture, we can see his final outline drawing, adding the clothes, accesories and details.
My character is named Anna, and she's hired assassin. She draws her victims where no one can see her using her looks, then kills them kick using a little blade which is hid in her hair band.
I've noticed some mistakes in my front and side view drawings. For example the side view has wrong proportions like the nose and the eye, and the front view looks a bit masculine, and I think the reason why is the jawline and the mouth-shape.
The enviroment concept art shows where she lives, a luxury apartment in the middle of New York, and where she had her "last job".
Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in (but not limited to) films, video games, animation, or comic books before it is put into the final product.

These are 2 of my favorite artists, Richard Abril and Dana Gueerrii. Both of them work at blizzard, a great game company. Most of their concept art have dark themes and try to be as real as possible
Another artist is David Blede, a romanian concept artists which does a more stylist way of concept art, like the one on the left.
Some of the media used in concept art is water markers / letrasets.
